Eamonn Dornan is a skilled lawyer, who has built an innovative transatlantic legal practice, and is admitted to practice at the Bar of the State of New York, and practices as a barrister-at-law in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Mr. Dornan graduated from Queens University Belfast with a Bachelor’s Degree in law and from the University College London with a Master’s Degree in International Public Law. He specializes in human rights and immigration law. He founded Dornan & Associates PLLC in New York in March 2008 which has represented investors, high-profile artists, I.T., legal and finance professionals, as well as media and construction companies in petitions to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
He has practiced and appeared before several federal U.S. District Courts in New York, New Jersey, California and Delaware, and has argued matters of appeal before several U.S. Courts of Appeal, and has petitioned the Supreme Court of the United States. He has obtained landmark and precedential decisions in U.S. federal courts, litigating for individual clients against major corporations such as the BBC and military defence manufacturer Northrup Grumman. He has taken the U.S. Government to task on countless occasions over its treatment of immigrants in the Federal courts and continues to hold U.S. immigration agencies to account.
He was a co-founder of Smith Dornan & Dehn which attracted some of the most prominent clients in the entertainment industry, including HBO, Sony Pictures Television, 20th Century Fox, Channel 4 Television, and Coquette Productions. The law firm became particularly notable for its representation of Sacha Baron Cohen, creator of the Borat, Bruno, and Ali G, characters. The principals of Smith, Dornan & Dehn founded a legal process outsourcing company, headquartered in Mysore, Karnataka.
